Employment and labour

Local employment has been a key benefit of the Project.

During the construction phase, which was completed in 2024, the Project directly generated approximately 250 jobs and supported a range of local contractors and service providers.

Since commencing operations, Edenvale Solar Park has continued to support ongoing employment through operations and maintenance activities. The Project directly employs between five and eight full-time equivalent permanent staff and engages specialist contractors as required to support the long-term operation of the facility.

Increase in economic activity

The Project has contributed to economic activity within the local and regional areas throughout both construction and operations.

During construction, the Project created demand for goods and services such as accommodation, food services, construction materials, freight and local labour. Spending by construction workers and businesses across the supply chain also contributed to broader economic activity within the region.

Following commencement of operations, the Project continues to support local businesses through the procurement of goods and services associated with the ongoing operation and maintenance of the facility.
